EU Commission publishes CSRD FAQ to help companies implement new sustainability reporting rules

According to the Commission, the new FAQ reflects input received from companies on topics ranging from scope of the rules, application dates, and exemptions, and sustainability information requests SMEs should expect as a result of the CSRD, and aims to reduce the administrative burden on companies implementing the new rules.

The publications supporting companies and other stakeholders such as auditors in implementing sustainability reporting requirements of the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), with the first reports set to begin next year, based on the 2024 financial year.
